Support for your card (1002:7942 Radeon Xpress 1250) is now available in
the -ati driver we have in Intrepid. This should fix it for you, so I'm
closing the bug. However, if it *still* doesn't work, please feel free
to reopen (or open a new bug if you're seeing different symptoms), and
include a fresh /var/log/Xorg.0.log from alpha-4 or newer.
