Thanks for working on those changes. The fluendo codec case is not that
clear though, that package has never been required to play mp3 since the
universe plugins always had an mp3 decoder, could you look a bit at why
it was added and if the reason still stands?

I always thought it was fluendo was the only one 'legal' for all users.
(- it is marked that way in sessioninstaller, as far as the current
method, (easy-codec-install or whatever) well who knows, it's very much
broken.
Most users likely use/used sessioninstaller over the restricted
packages, at least initially after install
