Hi! Just want to notify all of you that the AMD64 version of Ubuntu including the newest one in cdimage [1] not does work with "Intel Xeon 5405" [2] witch is a 64-bit cpu..
It works fine on "Debian Lenny AMD64" [3] so I can't see any reasons for why it not should work on Ubuntu.. This is the error message I get: This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detects an i686 CPU Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropiate for your CPU. -Morten [1] http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/karmic-desktop-amd64.iso [2] http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=33079 [3] http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/5.0.3/amd64/iso-cd/debian-503-amd64-netinst.iso -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss
