Thanks Mark, I think that's as close to an "official" recommendation as I'm going to get :-) > Our focus for 14.04 LTS is stability, performance and key items > like high-DPI support for modern displays. Welcome focuses indeed, but not much use to a migrating XP user unless they buy new hardware (which will come with Windows 8 and they'll stick with that). Obviously we're looking at different markets (home vs business) but the same will apply to at least the small businesses I've supported in the past - the only reason they'll consider Ubuntu is because it saves them replacing the hardware when several "perfectly good" PCs go EOL at the same time because the OS expires. If I can get them to Ubuntu (or *buntu) at that point then new options open up when they do replace the hardware, but if the hardware gets upgraded first it will go Windows and the opportunity is lost. -- Mark Rogers // More Solutions Ltd (Peterborough Office) // 0844 251 1450 Registered in England (0456 0902) 21 Drakes Mews, Milton Keynes, MK8 0ER -- ubuntu-devel mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel
