Hi All

Im a newbie to Ubuntu. I had installed Ubuntu 6.04 on my pc and it was
working fine. I had also installed Beryl and it was working awsome.

But yesterday I tried to upgrade to 7.04 through the internet and it
failed I think. cuz i clicked upgrade online and it showed it would take an
hour so i left my machine to do it. and when i came back to check, some
things had failed to download but it said upgrading but now in grub it shows
Ubuntu kernel 2.3.20.16 and my older ones as 2.6.17.11 & 2.6.17.10 but
when i boot into anyone it gives a blank ubuntu desktop screen where only
crtl + alt + backspace works and nothing else is visible.

So can anyone help me fix this issue or do i have to do a reinstall ?

Thanks
Sameer (newbie)

Try going to tty1 by pressing ctrl + alt + F1, then follow the method 2
described in this article
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/upgrade-ubuntu-610-edgy-eft-to-ubuntu-704-feisty-fawn-2.html

And please start a new query in a fresh email don't reuse an old email.
Also, if you want to send emails to the list, it would be better to receive
