Status in Ubuntu Manual: Confirmed Bug description: The manual discusses the use of apt-get update and apt-get upgrade but doesn't mention apt-get dist-upgrade. Generally for new users dist-upgrade is preferable to upgrade. This bug was also filed via the google spreadsheet.
