Aside: My sister has Kubuntu on a PII 333 with only 64MB RAM and it's a snail.
it runs but only _just_. that's why I ordered her new pc in parts this weekend
(being a good brother).
Cool, I don't think there are official minimum specifications for
Ubuntu, well not that I have found anyway. However I am writing a sort
of training manual to use to run some free computer training courses in
my local community and one of the things I was trying to work out was
minimum respectable specs for a suitable computer should people short on
cash just want to buy a cheap second hand pc.
Most references just generalise this and say it will run on most
hardware, if it is slow then try Xubuntu etc etc. However I do not think
this is appropriate advice for anyone that is a novice and or new to
computers in general.
