Hi, I'm relatively new to the Ubuntu Marketing Team, but i have a suggestion/question about the forums at ubuntupeople.com. I've posted this topic on ubuntupeople.com as well, because i understand some people like to discuss marketing through a mailinglist, and others prefer a forum.
Maybe this is a bit of a hard subject and it's certainly not meant to offend anyone. But i would like to start a discussion about if the marketingforum of ubuntu should move to ubuntuforums.org. One of the reasons why i am in favor of moving is that when people first meet with ubuntu, they see that on the homepage there's a link to ubuntuforums.org, and see those forums as the official discussion forum for ubuntu. Most people don't know about this forums, which is a pity. Because we are or pretend to be the 'official' marketing team of ubuntu, it's strange to be on a seperate forum. Especially when one of our missions is to promote the community and the idea of working to getting to make something wonderfull. Having a seperate forum is not a good example. Another plus of being a part of ubuntuforums.org is while there are much more people on that forum, there's a bigger chance to get people involved in the marketing team, or at least more people can discuss marketing topics. I'm pretty new to Ubuntu marketing and certainly don't know everything that has been tried in the past, but talking to an admin of ubuntuforums i found out that there shouldn't be too much trouble from their side to move ubuntupeople and/or the marketing stuff to their forum. So, why not? Greetings, Jeroen van de Nieuwenhof -- ubuntu-marketing mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-marketing
