Team,

On more than one occasion I have been reminded that anyone can do
anything they want. From a creativity point of view it doesn't get any
better. It's from this kind of primordial soup really great ideas arise.
But from the same source ideas which are not so great and possibility
repulsive and grotesque also arise. The question becomes must we accept
the bad in order to get the good?

I believe the answer is no and the solution is Ubuntu values and the
Code of Conduct. To bring everyone to the same place here is a re-cap in
no particular order.

Ubuntu Values

* Equality – without bias or prejudice of gender, culture, race, or
creed
* Love – treat others as you would like to be treated
* Integrity – wanting only the best for the community
* Excellence – your best effort
* Inclusion – all are welcomed, encourage others to join
* Teamwork – share the effort

Code of Conduct

* Be respectful
* Be considerate
* When you disagree
* Step down considerately
* Be collaborative

Realizing there is some redundancy here I believe the two are harmonious
and synergistic. Values is what I believe, conduct is how I act. How
does this help? IMO this is the standard by which a marketing project
should be held. When an idea comes to the Team the very first thing we
should do is evaluate if it violates the above. If it does, the message
to the author is thank you for your idea but it doesn't meet our
standard and this is something you will have to pursue else where.

Realizing there is often room for improvement and things change over
time, I would respond to anyone who may question our effort that it was
done with Ubuntu values at heart and executed with the Code of Conduct
in mind.

Is there really any other way to manage anything goes?

John
