However, you may have a point that it could be useful to add links for subscribing to mailing lists as well. However, I fear your checkbox method is far too simplified, as there are dozens, if not hundreds, of Ubuntu mailing lists (I'm on two dozen myself). It does surprise me that the http://www.ubuntu.com/news doesn't seem to have an obvious RSS. My suggestions, find or create one for that, and link to lists.ubuntu.com. Thoughts?
