Dear Rubén,

Would it be possible to grow spread ubuntu into a more community based
website now that we have the basics of uploading media?

There are a couple of things I may post into launchpad feature requests
for spread ubuntu:

 * Quality of Publish scoring - A score out of 5 starts to be calculated
by the computer comprising the published quality. It's metrics such as
DPI (90DPI too low, 300DPI just right), formats (pdf+10, png+5, jpegs-10
etc)
 * Quality of Source scoring - A score for the source material, xcfs
should be scored less than svgs, no source or other formats should
recieve very low scores. Raster images to take into account DPI.
 * Mashup recognition - I've derived a number of works from the work
done by others (I admit I had to redraw everything in SVG, but I guess
most arts aren't up to speed on media source formats) I'd like to be
able for my works to link back.
* Group profiles - Have a place for LoCo groups to register an account
as a consumer of materials. This allows us to say what materials we've
used and what we've liked.
 * Requests - Allow consumers of marketing media to request new works
for specific events or ideas. allow the selection of existing works as
the kind of styles to use. All works to be uploaded.
 * Commenting on works.

What we want really is to make the spread ubuntu site not just a
resource that random people put things into, but a resource that EVERY
single LoCo should be joining and getting involved in. That was if
artists do come along to a LoCo, they're automatically involved in the
marketing system.

 * Marketing Campains - the ability to message all LoCo contacts with
memberships and/or the LoCo contacts mailing list to get people involved
with initalitives in certain parts of the world to coordinate the same
marketing message. This may include twiting/denting or putting up 10
posters per joiner, but the feature should allow for people to commit
themselves to doing it and perhaps even for certain areas to organise
mass print runs.

We can talk about any of these things at UDS is anyone else is going.
More community involvement, better tools, more reasons for visiting and
contributing to the spread ubutnu website.

So far I see it as our best focus point for the Ubuntu Marketing group.

Best Regards, Martin Owens
