Hi, I'm aslo intrested in shrinking the minimal installation of Ubuntu server, especially Fiest Fawn, down to <512M.
I've found out that you can clean/delete the instalationfiles after the installation. That will help to reduce the size a bit. check your sizf this folder: # ls /var/cache/apt/archives Try his commands to clean up the apt cache: # apt-get clean # apt-get autoclean I also find this blog intresting but I haven't tried it myself yet: http://www.yatblog.com/2007/04/22/cleaning-up-your-ubuntu-installation/ Please correct me if I'm wrong about any part of the above text. // Anders 2007/5/14, Ingo Lantschner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Hallo, > looking for a way to shrink the diskspace used by a Ubuntu Server I > came along the /usr/share/doc.
