PS: It's completely impossible that any distro will ship with perfect configs. E.g. not everybody has a RME card, hence it's ok that the first audio device entry for rtirq is snd. But what if you have several PCI MIDI interfaces connected and a PCIe card from RME? An editor as leafpad allows you to simply add some letters.
WE DO NEED SIMPLE EDITORS! Not to write programs, but to edit configs. When I switched to Arch Linux some days ago it was my choice to add leafpad. When I'll upgrade my Ubuntu Studio DAW I would like to see leafpad as default editor.
