I think i understood that, what i ment is that i'm dubitous as of how separating ubuntustudio from the bigger entity that is debian, could expand the community or generate a broader interest. Everything related to communication would have to be rebuild from scratch, mailing lists, documentation URLs, IRC channels... Before we get those funds that would make the differences you invoke, we would have to spend looooots of time building trust, communication platforms, advertise the new "branding", give it an identity (logo, name, color code), come up with a new code of conduct.... etc etc... I'm not against it, i am not trying to discourage you or anyone who wants to be more independent, i'm just thinking out loud about the consequences and the costs in time and energy of such an operation. -- Set
