I see transcode (https://bitbucket.org/france/transcode-tcforge) has

Do we need a replacement? With what?

It is true the last commit to transcode is 2011 (Nov)

apt-cache rdepends --installed transcode
shows:
transcode
Reverse Depends:
  transcode-doc
  xjadeo

The author of xjadeo says transcode has never been a depend. His comment on transcode is: back in the day (2006/7) it was handy to have transcode
                 around though.

syaptic says transcode is only a recommend. I don't know how that affects our ISOs (do they treat recommands as depends?)
