As much as I would really like to see 2.10 on release, this is a good point.
From a 18.10 point of view, the main issue with snap in combination with graphics programs used to be that snap could have issues with integration of proprietary graphic drivers (e.g. of nvidia). This information is several months old through so it is possible that the issue is fixed.
