I guess my grasp of the obvious is less than keen, as well. No wonder I can't get my Linux audio stuff to work properly. Too bad I can't upgrade my brain. I am wondering if I mucked something up by loading the madfuload firmware into the M-Audio Ozone Academic. The Sourceforge page with the download ( http://usb-midi-fw.sourceforge.net/) says that " The loader is not required for some newer models of the above devices, like the Ozone Academic", but I had long since loaded it before I saw that bit. IIRC, the device was never detected until after the firmware load, but my recollection may be faulty. Any suggestions, other than "get properly compatible hardware"? --PD
