I have Ubuntu Studio on my laptop which I use for post production work on the go. It is also very capable. I also do not need an RT kernel for post production work (arranging, composing, mixing, etc.) Also, you will invest time on system management either way. Virus updates, registry corruption, malware, you *will* be busy with your Windows system too. The real problem is that you have already invested in a particular skill set. I will not lie to and say that there is zero cost in moving to Linux, but you will either find the time or you won't.
