Hi Pietro,

Thanks much... this works... I think I am learning to enjoy the bare bottom frame now... but if the need arises for some launching space, etc., I now know what to do.

Right click the top panel (or frame as you call it) then select "new panel". Then, if it is not yet at the bottom, right click it and select "properties". You may choose from top, bottom, right or left orientation.
