These are the result of the changes discussed at https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations-coordinators/msg00151.html and further discussion with the Ubuntu installer team (I still haven't documented them). In short, some of the strings previously present in the debian-installer template are now in the 'ubiquity' template. The oem-config template has now disappeared and its strings are now in 'ubiquity'. > First > Name: ubiquity-desktop > Domain: ubiquity > Contains the translations of the .desktop files used in Ubiquity. > Second > Name: ubiquity > Domanin: debconf > Contains the "real" ubiquity translations. The reason why there are two templates instead of just one is because of the complexity of merging them with the installer build system. If anyone is interested in the details, Colin Watson or other members from the installer team will be able to provide more. I'm also happy to forward any questions you might have. * Timezone translations: Furthermore, I should point translators to this comment, especially the second paragraph. https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gfxboot-theme-ubuntu/+bug/408393/comments/15 So if you want to get the timezones translated, from this I would advice you to get the upstream Unicode CLDR translated into your language first as soon as possible, since it seems quite a long process. > > Both are included in the language packs. > > Is this ok? > > As far as I know ubiquity is only used on the LiveCD. > I too believe the "Include translations for this template in language packs" can be safely unticked in both cases. Thanks for looking into this! Regards, David. -- David Planella Ubuntu Translations Coordinator david(dot)planella(at)ubuntu(dot)com www.ubuntu.com
