<[email protected]>:
Could someone remind me of the deadline for the translations being
pulled from Launchapd for this year's update? I'm trying my best to get
rid of all the rubbish bit there's only so much I can fit in on a daily
basis and I'm trying to plan best as I can.
Or has there been a new development regarding more regular updates for
translations? I think someone mentioned something.
Thanks
Michael
Hi,
The general schedule can be found here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SaucySalamander/ReleaseSchedule
The main dates:
September 19th - UserInterfaceFreeze (the time when developers will do a
massive push of string bunches, e.g. technically break the string freeze
;) )
September 19th - October 3rd - String freeze breaks with and without a
notice (upstream and downstream).
October 3rd - Non LanguagePack Translation Deadline, all translations
committed to bootloader, installer and most Translation Project catalogs
will be visible in 14.04 only. Ubiquity descriptions for Ubuntu and
derivatives should be updated by this date (breaking most of the LP
translations with only changing "13.04" with "13.10", so the offline
translation memory rules at least in this case ;) ), but who knows...
October 10th - LanguagePack Translation Deadline, 13.10 translation
becomes some kind of sport, nothing more. But string freeze breaks are
still possible. ;)
That's just my vision of the current state of arts.
Best regards,
Yuri
