Shiretoko was the codename for firefox while it was in development, 
hopefully this link will explain the reasoning behind the two versions 
in Ubuntu now http://www.asoftsite.org/s9y/archives/161-guid.html.

Until Karmic is released, both versions will continue to be supported, 
but from that link, when Karmic is released, that will by default come 
with Firefox 3.5 and would be named firefox because it wouldn't also 
include firefox 3.0.
