Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop and have been running 9.04 successfully since I bought it a couple of months ago.
I've upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 and I can no longer use it - the system boots and gets to login screen, but since there is no display I can't use it! I reinstalled 9.04 and downloaded the 9.10 Live Cd, which has the same problem - the display is blank. It does detect an external monitor so I can see the output on that, but that isn't a very practical solution. Changing the display properties for the laptop screen doesn't make any difference, whatever I try I do not get any thing on the laptop screen. I am not sure how to fix this - i assumed that a Dell laptop would work "out of the box" with Karmic, but this isn't case for me.
