Hi everyone, At our last meeting[0] we revisited the topic of a website for the team. Over the past couple months ideas have been pouring in, and domains graciously offered by Grant Bowman and Eric Hammond. All of this documentation is available on the wiki page for the Website project:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CaliforniaTeam/Projects/Website We'd like to start moving forward with selecting a hosting provider by launching a discussion here. There have been 4 proposals offered: Option 1 - Canonical Option 2 - Ubuntu US Linode Option 3 - Google AppEngine Option 4 - Google Web Toolkit For details about all of these options, see the wiki page which has all the details: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CaliforniaTeam/Projects/Website#Hosting%20Options We also have the option of mixing and matching these solutions. If we want the team planet to be hosted on the Ubuntu US Linode and our core website application to be built with AppEngine and the Google Web Toolkit, for instance, that's perfectly acceptable. Please discuss! Note: to avoid "hit by a bus" concerns, all options will allow for multiple administrators who have control of payment (if applicable) and full administrative access to the server/solution.
