I have temporarily enabled the feature in universal access to allow me to use certain keys as a mouse on my keyboard to affect an orderly shutdown once the mouse fails. This works ok. Tonight I have had 3 random mouse freezes. Sometimes I have to shut off power to the pc in order to clear this error. (If I don't the freeze usually occurs very quickly - almost like some register somewhere is not getting cleared or is overflowing?) Otherwise depending on what I am doing a freeze may be 15 minutes to an hour away or immediate.
