I have this kind of problem too. When I power on my computer, auto log in to Ubuntu 12.04,viivaviivaviivaviiva then there are few little flickering lines top of the screen. I can open software and do pretty much anything, but when I push ENTER first time, it logs out to log on screen and after that the problem does not exist until I shut down my computer and start over.
