Step 1 is useless, as I can´t see anything except a black screen at ubuntu, about step 2...well...I got the same black screen at ubuntu recovery mode, i couldn´t do anything, even collect a bug report. I find this odd as if I recall right, recovery mode was basically text
After I enter recovery mode, some text related to what recovery mode is doing appears and at some point the black screen appears. Recovery mode don´t even show the menu with the recovery options I remember ubuntu used to have in this mode. I should mention I was dual-booting ubuntu and windows 7, so, I did not needed to press shift, as the menu shows naturaly.
