Question #77022 on Ubuntu changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77022
Tom proposed the following answer: Synaptic is great for doing all the hunting around, downloading, installing and then keeping the program fully updated and even un- installing if it comes to that. The Windows world really lacks a central point for all that. I think that people scouting around the internet and then randomly downloading some "new antivirus" or "anti-spyware" is a huge contributory factor in the proliferation of Windows viruses, forcing people to only use products from "reputable" companies whose main focus is on profits, not on writing good software ;) -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
