Question #78103 on Ubuntu changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/78103
actionparsnip posted a new comment: Its good to use if you actually do want a server. Servers do not need GUIs and is actually a security risk to run one as it is an extra service that can be exploited, so it doesnt come with one. For example, my fileserver runs samba and has no x server, all config is done via ssh and I edit /etc/samba/smb.conf to manage my shares. You can install al the server apps on the desktop install as they use the same repos, if you want a desktop system, install the desktop system. If you need a proper server then install the server. -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
