Use torrents instead:

64Bit
http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.04/ubuntu-9.04-desktop-amd64.iso.torrent
MD5 Sum = cace6ea9dde8dc158174e345aabe3fae
Torrents add extra error checking over standard file transfer using TCP.
I will also help to check the data but MD5 sum checks should still be
done.
