Tom proposed the following answer: Sorry Omar i'm having a bad day. The Partition editor is in that menu when you're using a LiveCd session but it's not there on a hard-drive install, i forgot, sorry. You can boot up from the Ubuntu Cd and choose the option "Try Ubuntu without making changes to this machine" to get to a working desktop which we call a "LiveCd session", if it works. It should pick-up on your internet connection so you can surf quite easily with firefox.
