Tom proposed the following answer:
If you can boot into the cd and get to it's desktop then go up to the
top taskbar Firefox should work. Also if you click on
System - Administration - Partition Editor
that should allow you to delete all the partitions except the first one.
I think sda1 is the one with your data on it so just don't delete that
one and then we should be ok
