Using the latest UGR (amd64) with the "dev channel" repository enabled.
I haven't had a problem with 'gnome-settings-daemon' crashing until this morning when "gnome-settings-daemon" was updated to "3.0.1-0ubuntu1~build3". Now it crashes on login and sends me back to the login screen or it will successfully login in but it takes up to 30 seconds for the gnome-shell interface to show up (nothing but a blank desktop until it does) where it was only 2 to 3 seconds before the update. Once the desktop is fully loaded it's not themed at all. Attempting to start 'gnome-settings-daemon' from the terminal results in this message: "** (gnome-settings-daemon:3020): WARNING **: Ignoring unknown module 'org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.gconf' Segmentation fault" There is no crash file in /var/crash, in fact the directory is empty which is rather frustrating to say the least. I'm going to attempt to revert to the previous version of 'gnome- settings-daemon' if I can and see where that leads. I'll add another comment here if I have any more info to add. And if there's anything else I can try to help solve the problem, don't hesitate to ask. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Team UGR, which is subscribed to ugr-meta. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/756541 Title: gnome-settings-daemon Status in Ubuntu Gnome Remix Metapackages: Confirmed Bug description: gnome-settings-daemon crashes everytime I log-in. I can't fill the bug report because it says it's not a genuine Ubuntu package. Any idea on where to find informations on this?
