Hi, so I am trying to set up an FTP server to allow customers to access files. I am using Linux (Ubuntu Desktop Edition) with VSFTPD. The problem is somewhere in my configuration, when I try to connect to the server from outside my network, I am getting error message which I am having a hard time understanding.
I know that I am connecting to my ftp server, the user is properly logging in, but the connection is not fully established. The errors I am getting are: Filezilla: 1. Server sent passive reply with unroutable address. Using server address instead. 2. refusing to run with writable anonymous root Firefox: 500 oops: child died My only thought is that I am running into problems with my firewall, am I right in thinking this? Is there something more I need to do? Any help with this is appreciated, and please I am a complete noob to Linux and FTP servers, so feel free to treat me like an idiot.
