Here I am, I didn't solve the problem with Eclipse but I found a workaround to connect an IDE to "active" servers.
I'm using Quanta+, it's for KDE so you have to install some parts of the KDE environment... By the way, It's a very good IDE... it's made for web development so there is a lot of stuff just for this. Then I couldn't connect properly anyway to the "active" servers, it was absolutely too slow. But the active/passive option is not present into Quanta+. It's not there because it's in the KDE control center (kcontrol if you don't have the Kubuntu environment) which gives you all the details about KDE. Once it's open: ---> Internet & Network ---> Connection Preferences --- > FTP Options: uncheck "Enable passive mode (PASV)", and it works fantastically!!! ohhh, finaly. byeee On Sep 22, 12:07 am, "^AndreA^" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > With the webdav and ftp plugin Eclipse seems to work fine (but not > with transfer mode: active). > > I haven't found a solution yet. > > In case I will let you know... and please do the same. ;-) > > Eventually we will succed!!! or at least, I hope so... > > bye > > On Sep 21, 6:45 pm, "Ahmed Koraiem" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > Hey, look > > > I use eclipse too but i never had to try connecting it into a server to > > transfer files, though maybe i'm gonna need this at college, so if you ahd > > any luck making it work please tell me, and I'm really sorry I couldn't help > > but I'm gonna try on my own too > > > Thanks.. > > > On Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 4:36 PM, ^AndreA^ <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > oh no!!! > > > > no one?!? :-| > > > > On Sep 15, 12:54 am, "^AndreA^" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > > I'm trying to connect my IDE (Eclipse) to a ftp server (the office > > > > one)... > > > > > I's very important to have the ftp access into the IDE otherwise I > > > > should always upload/download the files with another ftp client > > > > (Filezilla for example) and that is very annoying. > > > > > I've installed the webdav and ftp plugin into eclipse, it does NOT > > > > work with that server (it says: "ERROR opening PORT server socket") > > > > but it does work with other servers (so it's correctly installed). > > > > > The unique difference between the servers is the transfer mode (active/ > > > > passive). > > > > > Basically because the office server requires an active trasfer mode it > > > > doesn't want to work!!! > > > > I tried to modify the Eclipse settings but nothing happened. > > > > > Being particularly fed up with it I'm following another path, I'm > > > > trying to install the ftp server as a local folder with curlftpfs. > > > > > But here again I've got the same problem... > > > > > For example, before to use curlftpfs I'm trying to connect to the > > > > server with the curl command and writing: > > > > "curlftp://myftpaddress.org--user > > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED]:my_password" > > > > I can connect to the "passive server" but with the "active one" there > > > > is no way at all. > > > > > It says: "curl: (13) Bad PASV/EPSV response: 421" > > > > > Anyone knows how I can connect to an "active server"? > > > > > I read almost all the option and I tried some of them but I've had no > > > > "luck". > > > > > How can I use curlftpfs for active trasfer mode connection? > > > > > any advice would be very appreciated. > > > > Thanks, > > > > Andrea > > > > > PS: I use Ubuntu 7.10. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ubuntu Linux" group.
