Hey ubuntu guys. I'm a linux newbie here, but i finally decided to take the plunge. I got the 8.10 iso and made a live CD the second I could. I set my computer to boot from CD, and restart. The CD splash screen pops up, but if I click on any of the options, my compy freezes. I've tried leaving it sitting for a while, and I've tried all the other options, all to no avail.
See, what I'm trying to do is create a persistant 8.10 install on a 8GB thumbdrive. That way I can try out Ubuntu when I fancy it. I've heard the easiest way to do this is by booting from the live Cd and using the wizard.
