I haven't tried this myself. What I have is an LCD TV with a PC input.
If I connect it to my laptop while
the laptop is turned off and set the TV to take it's input from the PC
input it is seen by my laptop.
Not only that but the laptop configures itself and the TV to the same
resolution and both displays
come on.
The only thing is that the TV manual says it's maximum resolution is
1280x768 whereas
the laptop's is 1280x800.
What actually happens is they both come up at 1024x768.
Maybe something similar will happen if you try this.
