Hi everyone! I'm having problems suspending my laptop using Ubuntu 8.10 (didn't work with 8.04 either). This is suspend-to-ram, not hibernate.
The laptop appears to suspend correctly: fans off and suspend light on. However, when I press the power button to wake it, the fans spin up and I get a black screen. Pressing keys does nothing, including alt+prntScr+RSEIUB. I can't find anything meaningful in the kernal log. I've tried everything I found on the forums, to no avail. It's not related to Compiz, as it freezes even when Compiz is off. Nor is it a problem with my wifi card. I'm using an older P4 laptop @ 3.06ghz, with 700-something MB RAM. ATI Raedon video. It's a JetBook 9450, if that helps any... :-) Any help would be greatly appreciated, this hibernate stuff is *way* too slow!
