You can use 'sudo' ahead of any command that needs root permissions, for
example 'sudo gedit httpd.conf', 'sudo nano -w /etc/fstab', 'sudo vi
/etc/inittab', 'sudo mv <file> <location>', 'sudo cp <file> <location>,
etc...

When you tell me I should give
proprietary software a fair technical
evaluation because its features are

is saying "Look at the shine on those
manacles!" to someone who remembers
feeling like a slave." - Eric S. Raymond
