Forgive me for a lack of a tech vocabulary. I have: a laptop, dual booting with XP and Intrepid, and connecting to a router wirelessly.
My wireless connection is unable to connect to my modem/router (ATT 2WIRE) thingy. Just last night it could, booting it up during lunch it could not. Last night before shutdown, I did not install the 7 updates (2 security and 5 recommended). Wondering if this has anything to do with it. I have other networks around my apt. of which some are unprotected. I am unable to connect to those as well. My network monitor on the panel shows no signal strength on device wlan0. I can connect with Windows. My router's wireless LED is not lit up when in Ubuntu (8.10), but is when running XP. The wireless device on my laptop is on. I've done a look through with the configurations and properties and what not, but I just can't seem to figure out how to fix this. I'm a new user to Linux and Ubuntu and I'm still learning terminal commands and workarounds. I'm sure I've left out a lot of info, but if you ask I can get it to you. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Also, would anyone recommend installing the latest driver @ http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Download? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ubuntu Linux" group.
