I don't know why a name like Fajr for example won't be relevant to the project. I mean, look at distro names like Ubuntu, some african word that means humanity or so. It has not 'tux' or 'ux' in it. Similarly, the words RedHat, Fedora, ... are not linux or OS related. > jMehdi, Isn't it possible to contact Canonical company and ask > for their permission to keep the current name? One reason for refusing would be that we are putting non-free software (such as acroread & skype) on the DVD. Which may harm their name/reputation infront of some people who are hard-core free software guys. There are already people who dont like that they facilitate installation of non-free software (such as Adobe's flash or non-free drivers).
