I've already asked canonical twice but never got an answer...
Maybe the third time will be the good one ;)

Salaam,

Since this distro. will be used by both arabs and non-arabs, I suggest
that the name would be easy for non-arabs to pronounce correctly. Also I
suggest that the name be short. Hence, I would vote for Fajr, UmmahTux,
Hidayah, Himma, Badr, Afaaq, Ayah

I agree. It is very important to choose a name which is short and also easy
to remember and pronounce.
I personally prefer UbuntuME over all the suggested names since in my
opinion it is more relevant to the project's nature. I think the other names
except UmmahTux, IqrahLinux, and MuslimOSSP are not really relavent. If this
project was a Quranic project then names like Noor, Hidayah, or Ayah would
make sense. jMehdi, Isn't it possible to contact Canonical company and ask
for their permission to keep the current name?

Best,
Mohammad
