Hello, perhaps you have to patch the makefile. I meen the small-written one. The makefile configures the configure-skript. I also had problems with compiling openSSL for netsnmp.

I've tried openssl 0.9.8e and 0.9.8g without success, I've used the patches supplied in a previous mail here (from David McCullough and Doug Kehn resp.). 0.9.8g worked fine, but MD4 wasn't enabled (which I need). I tried to edit the generated makefiles (since ./Configure didn't work, "no rule to make target 'links'", and probably shouldn't be used anyway I've heard), but the linker reported MD4_Init /MD4_Update/MD4_Final missing. Then I tried 0.9.8e. It refused to compile because of a series of "undefined reference to `BIO_set_callback'" in the openSSL apps directory (e.g. enc.c, s_server.c). In 0.9.8e I had to do a "./Configure linux-elf" since it refused to compile otherwise ("Makefile older than Makefile.org"). Does anyone have any ideas how to get openssl to work?
