We have succeeded in "excluding" the units jar using maven 2, and
working with the latest JScience. The reason
for the split is that geotools (actually geoapi) only needs the units
part ... not the measures. JScience does include
some spatial constructs that are in disagreement with GeoAPI and may
confuse developers at the end of the day..
From my standpoint we could drop units from uDig and switch over to
JScience - measure are really helping me
be explicit in my current project.
