Well, it sure takes a long time to turn the digest over, I hadn't
thought about this in months.

A consideration I ran into is that RAW files aren't just RGB, they're
more like RGGB because the sensors have twice as many green pixels as
reb and blue.

I don't remember why I stopped working on it though. I was using code
from dcraw to get the raw data. I later found an email from Dave
Coffin he sent 2/25/2016 in my spam folder, I didn't find it until
3/24/2016.

He said:
"dcraw -E -4" gets you the raw unscaled pixels;
this is mentioned in the manpage under the "-I" option.
This does not pass through any metadata, such as the
filter pattern, that you would need to correctly decode
the image.
                                Dave Coffin 2/25/2016

Filter pattern here refers to the RGGB thing I think.

Maybe it was discovering that my monitor has much more backlight at
the bottom than elsewhere, messing up photos taken of the screen. No
idea really.

Mobile security can be enabling, not merely restricting. Employees who
bring their own devices (BYOD) to work are irked by the imposition of MDM
restrictions. Mobile Device Manager Plus allows you to control only the
apps on BYO-devices by containerizing them, leaving personal data untouched!
