Basically get the packages to build and then prepare the Solaris Spec files as per the Pkgbuild guide and commit them to the SFE repository: http://pkgbuild.sourceforge.net/spec-files-extra/ If the stuff builds on Solaris Express then it will build on BeleniX. If you need to modify source code then you should prepare unified diffs using diff -u <original> <modified> and commit the patches to the SFE repository. I am going to put up a complete package list currently in BeleniX website. Some of those are already present in SFE and some are not. You can see which ones are not present and pick up one an work on it. Just so that we do not duplicate work please notify me if you start compiling something. That goes for anyone else who are doing this. I will send an email once the website modifications are done. Sriram (Narayanan): Since you have compiled XULRunner it should be a good idea if you can a get Spec file + patches (if any) into SFE. > the next main issue for most people is the hard disk installation of Belenix. > > currently, there is a perl script which asks minimal questions to the user to > dump belenix to the hard disk (quite similar to installing knoppix). > > going forward, what kind of installer would you like ? An installable livecd is good enough and the SFE repository can be the source package repository to begin with. We need a binary package repository later.
