At the failsafe prompt do the following 1. Check if any gnome process is running, gnome-cleanup will tell you that. Kill them explicitly. 2. Do a gnome-cleanup. If this works ideally you may not have to do step 3 and 4 but still check it out if those dirs are around, if they are then do 3 and 4. 3. rm -rf /var/tmp/orbit-<loginname> 4. rm -rf /var/tmp/gconfd-<loginname> 5. As root, move /etc/orbitrc to /etc/orbitrc.org (you don't really require IPV4 unless you are running some java apps with accessibility. That file exists for that combination mostly) 6. As Moinak suggested run script at the failsafe prompt followed by gnome-session and past the output here if still things don't work 7. If things start to work put move back orbitrc.org to orbitrc and re-login to see if the login still works Regards, -Arvind > Moinak Ghosh <Moinak.Ghosh at Sun.COM> wrote: > GS Sreedhar wrote: > > Hi Pradhap > > I tried the two options but both are giving the same problem > again.
