Can't figure out what the problem is from the information posted. But a far simpler approach would be to use two separate disks. Install Solaris on one disk and Linux/FreeBSD on the other. During the solaris installation, allow the installer to use the whole disk for Solaris. You can select the boot disk from the OpenBoot command prompt. What Sparc box is this ? The best version of FreeBSD or Linux to choose would depend on your hardware configuration.
