I still use that amazingly fast and easy to use IDE. Beats today's IDEs in every respect ;)
The closest you can get to dos.h/conio.h on Unix in to use Curses/NCurses. A good guide is available at: http://www.apmaths.uwo.ca/~xli/ncurses.html It might be useful to have a short intro to Curses in the next BOSUG meet if enough people are interested.
