Police in Kampala are investigating a suspected ritual
murder after finding human brains in a car.
Police Public Relations Officer Assuman Mugenyi said police
found the human brain in a white Toyota Prado with no numbers after
a chase near Kampala.
"We found human brains and blood stains and some exercise
books in the middle seat of the car after a chase," Mugenyi said.
The books were bearing the name of a senior three student of
King of Kings Secondary School in Iganga.
"We have established that this girl sat for S.4 at one of
the school's branches," Mugenyi said without disclosing her name because
it has not been established whether she is dead.
He said police are trying to establish the girl's home and
whether she was the victim of a suspected ritual murder.
"These days there are so many human sacrifices we suspect
someone could have been killed in the ritual murder," Mugenyi said.
Mugenyi said that the cops also recovered a mobile phone
from the Prado, which will help them arrest the suspect.
The incident happened on Monday shortly after 9:30 p.m. when
cops on a police patrol car, usually stationed near the Coca Cola
factory in Namanve, which is a few kilometres east of
Kampala, spotted a numberless white Prado drive toward the city.
"The driver made a U-turn and sped off toward Seeta, along
Jinja road. The patrollers pursued the vehicle," Mugenyi said.
On reaching Seeta, the Prado turned around and headed for
Kampala. ?When he reached Jovena fuel depot near Coca Cola, he
lost concentration and the vehicle skidded off the road,?
Mugenyi said, adding that the driver ran away.
